Simple Pleasures...

Some may think I am a complicated chick, but when it comes down to it I am a simple chick who enjoys some of the simpler things in life...

I love seeing my dog lay in front of the door and look out the window.  We adopted her.  She came from TN.  She had a hard life before she found her way to us.  It makes me happy to see her just being her...

I picked the "to market" bag up off of Esty...I just love it.  It is the perfect Farmer's market bag.

I love the inside of the bag when I get home from the farmer's market...today was strawberries, eggs, local honey with roasted almonds in it and local maple syrup...yum...yum and more yum.

I love that the milk man comes to my house every Monday morning and delivers milk in glass bottles.  The glass keeps the milk so nice and cold and local milk doesn't get much better.

I do not love frogs but I do love how excited my son gets when catching them at my parent's pond...

I love drinking my coffee from mugs that remind me of special places or times. My fav right now is from Vero Beach.  We went there last February and had such a great vacation.

I bought these sheets from Kmart. The are by Country Living.  They fit a king size bed and I paid $40 for them.  They have cute trim and are the perfect weight with a little sheen to them.  Good sheets cheap make me very happy and the crochet trim is like a cherry on top.

Lastly, one of my simple pleasures of late is going to my chicken coop, I love my window box though the flowers have been a little slow going.  All in good time.

There it is...just some of the simple things that make me happy.

So, I work from home...

Sounds great, right?

Well sometimes yes and sometimes, not so much.

I am thankful that I have a job, but it is no cake walk for sure.

I work alot hours, about 60 a week.

To battle the loneliness, we got Ginger about 3 years ago.

There are no flies on her. She knows what she wants.

Top shelf is the milkbones(Ginger likes to kick her treats old school) and the occasional dentastix for those not so fresh days.

Sometimes I am busy.  Ginger has a move to combat this.  I call it the "cram your head under my arm move so I can't type move".  It is usually pretty successful.

Then sometimes she just sits...and looks... I think now she is saying "Mommy just tell me, what is really in the garage?  I'm hungry for a snack and a milkbone isn't gonna cut it."

We have decided to hold off on the formal introductions with Ginger and the chicks till they are a little bigger or atleast can't fit in her mouth with one gulp.

Chick #2 thinks Chick #1 has lost it...

This is Ginger, she is the #2 Chick in our house.

She is not amused with all that has come with my attempt to get on the sugar wagon.

It has been a rough week but we are at the end of day 3 doing Dukan.  I am actually starting to feel better.  The massive headache I had for a day and a half has gone away and for the first time in a long time I feel like I may actually not be held hostage by my sugar cravings(and maybe loose the 40 lbs I have gained since I started telecommuting).

We are readying ourselves for the arrival of our 12 egg laying chicks for the first week in June.  Good thing we have some time since we are still working on the coop.  Then the real fun starts as my husband decided to order 2 batches of 25 meat birds.  Yes that is a total of 62 birds!  The meat birds will only be temporary residents for about 10 weeks, but while they are here they will have a nice little chicken life in our corner of the world. It will be interesting to see how Ginger likes the chicks.  I have a feeling there will be no love but time will tell.
